This was from Jane yesterda (10-13-2009):
After an uncomfortable morning Jude had fluid removed from around her lungs and abdomen. The doctor now believes that she has a leak in her small bowel or colon. She is in surgery now which is supposed to take about one hour. The doctor is very confident and believes the surgery will be successful. Derek and I will report right after surgery.

  1. This was sent from Jane T. last night (10-13-2009):
Just spoke with the surgeon. Judy is doing well. There was a little pin prick hole in her small bowel (which is much better than her colon) which the surgeon repaired. She will be in the hospital until at least Saturday and most likely later. They will hydrate and feed her intravenous for the next several days. until she is stable. Love to all of you.

  2. I've heard that the ICU nurses are being overwhelmed with phone calls to check on Judy, so please post questions, thoughts, etc, here! Thanks all of you fans-of-Judy...

  3. Sorry I'm feeling so techno-challenged tonight... can't figure out how to start a new post...RRR.
Bernie sent me an e-mail and asked me to post this:
"We send blessings and healing to Judy from Bernie and David in Eugene, Oregon."
    .
I hope that Judy is resting easy tonight...

  4. Hello friends/family-of-judy... I can NOT figure out how to post on this blog... I can only comment on other posts, so that's what I'm stuck with for now...
I saw Judy this morning (Fri 10/16). Judy feels (and sounds) a bit weak, but her color is great, and she is able to flash that smile of hers! She said that she feels like she is stuck in the wrong body... not hers. All I could say was to let the doc.s and great nurses be in charge of her body, and concentrate staying strong and positive in her mind, until she can regain her body. Judy has a hard time speaking due to some nasal tubes, so she does enjoy hearing the latest in all of your lives, as it gives her joy to hear about all of you!
I helped her retrieve phone messages from her home phone, LOTS of well-wishers for Judy, including friend David from Ft Collins, who was able to talk to Judy while I was there.

Judy also seemed to really enjoy a good foot massage, which I happily indulged her! Amy was with Judy in the earlier morning, then did some errands for Judy, and back for the afternoon... Amy, your time is a gift! Thomas arrived as I was preparing to leave, so it was a good transition for Judy. As a big dog lover, I give Thomas a huge thank you for all of the Chaco care you've been providing!

I won't be able to see Judy until Monday, and I fully expect to find her much stonger... maybe even out of the ICU!
If anyone in Estes reads this, please try to retrieve some flowers for Judy at Mt Flowers (I think she said upper stanley). You can try to keep the flowers alive, and definitly keep the attached fof Judy... Thanks.
That's about it for now; thank you for all of your energy, thoughts and actions that you have contributed to Judy's recovery... what a great group of folks!

    Lisa
