Hi all - it's almost 8 am, and Judy is peacfully sleeping...I've been here since 7:30, sleeping when I arrived, so just doing some work in the waiting room. Thanks for the incredible GRCA pics! I spent a few hours with Jude yesterday, too. She is getting stronger, and really wants to improve; we set up a dry erase board to track what she had done every day (walking, eating, breathing, sitting up).
I don't know if it's the med.s or Judy-ness, but she is very focused on consuming protien... protien shakes and salmon seem to be her objectives! She choked down about 2 oz of banana protien smoothie, and told me that it was f---in' slimey! Her doc.s were looking into an appetite stimulus, in the pill form.
Hey! the girl's awake, so I'm off to feed her a smoothie and chat... more later!

  1. Hello TJ Fans...
I spent the mid day with Judy...her persona is returning. She got fiesty with the nurse... calling her Nurse Rachet when she was firmly told to drink her Ensure protein drink (she'd done about 1/2 of it by 2:30 PM. She also cracked some good jokes today...(keep on rocking in the free world) and more.
I had to tell her to stop visiting with me, and rest. She sat up for a good hour before going back to bed. It was reassuring to see the spirit in her today. She is sensitive to loud boisterous noise, and easily worn out. She worked intensively on breathing during her breath therapy sessions. The nurses were turning her on her side without complaint today...getting food down her is the main need for the moment. She says everything nauseates her...couldn't get her to touch the smoked salmon. She was so excited to see Haydon who was coming down after school today as well.
She loves the cards and letters, but isn't strong enough to talk on the phone much. She also wants to send out the message that she feels everyones love and good thoughts...she is very grateful for everyone. It is a lovely thing to be crossing paths with so many of Judy's friends....

  2. Mae,

I am heartened to hear that you are getting stronger and focussing hard on recovery.

If I were there, I'd make you a smoothie from freshly juiced organic fruits and veggies, with fresh organic sunflower sprouts, preferably home grown. (They are chocked full of protein and enzymes as you know.)

Get down, get baggy, and get.....oh, I better not say that last part.

    Love,

    Ali-mae
